I did all I knew to make the marriage work but when it ended all kinds of thoughts raced through my mind. Thoughts of being a failure, not being good enough, feeling rejected, etc. I worried about my children, second-guessed myself, and wondered if I was doing the right thing.

But looking back over the moving forward I now know it was not failure but freedom. It was not a divorce but a deliverance. It was not a mistake but my mission. I was channeling Harriet.

Our stories are similar. And just as she did when she secured her freedom I will go back and secure the freedom of as many sisters as God will allow. Some of my sisters don’t even know that they too are in bondage. I am Kim and will continue to encourage and inspire as God continues to release the chains of our minds both physically and spiritually.

As we approach the 4th of July weekend and on the other side of Juneteenth freedom is on my mind. Again, what are you searching freedom from?
